This also happened when I was just using a bluetooth headset and no bluetooth mouse (turned off). So it seems that the bluetooth is hanging for several seconds until it crashes.
So BEFORE the bluetooth devices disconnect they don’t do anything for a few seconds. Afterwards both reconnect (headset not always). From this point on I can witness already in the journalctl the messages coming up: gvc_mixer_card_get_index: assertion 'GVC_IS_MIXER_CARD (card)' failed and after a bit longer, I get the message from my headphones that it was disconnected. What happens is the following: All of a sudden my mouse won’t move anymore and the music stopped. I also removed the bluetooth connections and repaired them, no luck either. But just to rule it out I followed the fix and removed the key as discribed here. As my mouse is correctly connecting after reboot. There was a problem with mice in kernel 5.9 where they would not reconnect after reboot. Now I attach the logs below, but first I want to rule out the obvious. The mouse is a MX Master 2S and the headset is either a Sony WH1000XM3 or a Jabra Elite 65t. I see that this issue has already been addressed by Apple back in January and while my mouse didn't have stuttering issues it still annoys me that I cannot fully enjoy this mouse because of that slight delay that makes it unnacurate.I dont’t know if this is the reason but since 2 days after I updated to the newest kernel 5.10.86_64 my bluetooth connection is super unreliable. But that should also not be the case anyway since this mouse is made to work via bluetooth. The issue here is that I'd have to use a dongle to connect that USB A receiver to the type C ports.
On the other hand, it functions perfectly fine on my Windows machine with a Bolt receiver or bluetooth - and, while doing that, I also connected the receiver to my MBP and it also works perfectly fine that way. To answer the obvious questions, yes, I have the latest version of Mac OS, I have Logi Options installed with the latest update available (same behaviour without the software installed), checked all the Accessibility options that are related to Bluetooth mouse, did reset the Bluetooth module both from my mouse and from Mac OS. The connection is stable and all but there is a slight delay/latency everytime I move the cursor like it's 10ms behind, which makes it annoying to use because it's not so accurate.
